Suggestions for Successful Ribbon Cuttings!

IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU!

Congratulations on scheduling your ribbon cutting with the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce. This is your first stop on what should be a very exciting adventure. Our goal is to help you prepare for the event and add value to your membership.

Here are some guidelines and suggestions that other businesses have found successful – they are by no means fool-proof, and they are not all inclusive. They will help you get started.

Remember, this is your day. Make the most of it!

Be Prepared.   Know in advance what information you want the business community to know about your business.

Be Creative.   You want people to remember your event.

Be Friendly.  Referrals begin with relationships which are based on rapport.

Timing.  The best time to hold a ribbon cutting seems to be right after work – 5:30 pm. An event from 5 pm to 6 or 7pm gives enough time for getting off of work and attending.

Food.  Although food is not required, people tend to be more comfortable and linger longer if food is provided. You may lay out some cookies and coffee, or provide as much or as elaborate as you would like. The options are endless and for every budget.

Smile.  Your chance to make first impression is waiting for you. Your chance to impress your clients and visitors is important for the success of your picture. Your picture will also appear in the Chamber Currents and ecurrents.

Thank you for your membership in the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce!
